Killer Innovations Brake and the 260 Pistol project, again
« on: January 11, 2015, 08:00:44 PM »
I got a chance today to really start testing the 260 Striker. For now I'm just running a generic load of H4350 and the 140 Berger VLD to get a feel for the gun and how it shoots. I'll get around to working up a load soon, I hope.

After sighting in at 125 yards we moved to 475 yards to start testing. I don't know what the velocity is, but it took 11.5 MOA to be zeroed at 475. That should put me in the 2500 fps range. My shooting position was pretty bad. It was down hill and shooting prone. The bipod had to be way too high and I couldn't get a good rest under the pistol grip so I just rested my right wrist on a sand bag. I was still holding right about .75 MOA so I won't complain too much. The muzzle brake worked beautifully! From a better shooting position, I'd expect to be able to spot my own hits easily at this range. I really can't ask for more than that. The rounds feed well from the MDT polymer mag and follow up shots are nice and fast, just like I was hoping for.

I don't know why I can't get the video to embed, I give up!

Over all I'll call this one a success!

The KI brakes are great! I was shooting my 26" heavy .264 LBC today with a KI brake and from the prone a guy couldn't ask for more muzzle brake wise. No hop and what little recoil there was, was straight back and it's awful quiet compared to other brakes I have used.

You just had to throw the Magneto Speed in the picture too didn't you? I might just have to get one now. My buddy put a 300 gr Match King through my chronograph yesterday. I figure that if he's paying for it, why not upgrade? :chuckle:
