first canvasback

snuck on it for over a half an hour layied down on the trail to take a break, sat up and saw it, she dove again and she came up closer :yike: bad move smoked her at 20 yards  :hunter: . my first canvasback ever im 13 and have been hunting for 3 years. cant believe my luck.

Nice bag of ducks.  Congrats on the Can.  I've shot two in 38 years of hunting, the first I lost when it dove under some ice.  Keep at it and get a drake to go with that hen.   :tup:

that's a horror story about the lost canvasback under the ice i would be under that ice in no time, but i almost lost mine too i think i had eagles circling her and got a big stick and started swing never came within 40 yards tho. but ill do my best on the drake  :tup: tho im not in a place i can find many,i have found barrows golden eyes but never got one i have seen how ever one surf scoter in my life and a fluke drake eider would be cool to shoot some sea ducks ive always thought that would be fun  :).
