I have a Remington 742 chambered in .244 (1-12 twist) that i would love to have rebarreled in a 1-9 twist, can you guys do something like this?
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

Chris is good people, and Benchmark makes a great barrel and their work is OUTSTANDING.  Benchmark strongly supports shooting sports, and a number of the top Tactical shooters in the NW as well as other areas are running Benchmark Barrels.  Give them your business, they're local to WA residents, and I believe you will be very happy with the results!

Exellent post, I second that opinion.

X4 these guys are great to deal with and their rifles are incredible,
Smoke em when ya see em!

Thanks guys, your feedback is very much appreciated!
The lightest barrel for accuracy is a loaded question, I will need to know how heavy you want the rifle, what caliber is it gonna be in and the barrel length. Fluted or no fluting? There's lots of variables with that, but I can help if you need it.
Thanks,
 Chris
Benchmark
As light as possible with MOA accuracy for three shot groups. The caliber can be anything .25 or larger, preferably ,27 to .30.

Barrel length would ideally be 22" or longer.

Thank you.

Hey Bob,
If it were me I'd run a 6.5x280 ack or a 280ack with this build. Ive shot both of these rounds extensively and they rock. The performance and feeding is very reliable and reloading is easy with 280 ack nosler brass.

How far out are you on shortening a barrel and adding a muzzle brake?

Benchmark in my own opinion has the best customer service hands down. I had a 7 rem mag barreled action built by them and it shoots lights out 2 inch 5 shot groups @ 600 yards with 180 bergers. they have the fastest turn around time mine was done in 2 months try that with Hart barrels or anybody else my buddy has been waiting 11 months for his. and they are the only ones who offer a military discount great guys.

Thanks, Barry and Chris
Just waiting on my PTG 700 LA so I can bring it to you folks for my next rifle.

I can vouch for Benchmark as well. Barry, Ron and Chris are stand up guys and are there to help you the customer. They don't make you feel like a dip chit, even though most of us are compared to the amount of knowledge these guys have. They've built me a .338 Edge and now a 7 Dakota is in the works. As long as those guys are behind the open doors of Benchmark Barrels, I will only take my rifles to them. While there are dozens of "top tier" gunsmiths across the nation, we really are lucky to have one nearby that you can talk to in person and shake hands with knowing you've got one bad azz rifle.

I really like my Kimber Montana rifles, but the light ugly barrels seem temperamental to bullet weights.  I've wanted to try a different taper and fluted replacement.  Reason I have not had it done yet is that most shops similar to yours say they will not touch the Kimber action.  Do you know why that is?  What is Benchmark's policy on Kimber rifles?
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

Chris, I can't remember if I've asked you this before, so if I have my apologies for being redundant, but does Benchmark do rimfire drop in barrels for the more popular rifles like a Savage 93 or M77 rimfire???
