You will be happy about this Happy,My daughter and her boyfreind who hunts waterfowl bought a chocolate,they got it without breeding rights unless they did the health clearances,well the kids did all the tests,hips/elbows/eyes and are studding the dog out for his first litter this week.Nice male with a block head,I'd guess his weight at 55 pounds and is natural in ability.My daughter is his handler in the blind as he listens to her better than the boyfreind.I'm sorry to say the training is limited but he does mind her and waits to go until she tells him to.They just take the dog hunting,there's ZERO pigeon work,ZERO yard work,the dog just dotes on her every word.Apparantly they are suppling service to a yellow female who has black in the background and his daddy was black and momma was yellow.I informed them they could be looking at a tri color litter.I doubt anything will come of it as the females owner seems uninformed and doesn't want to try to breed until day 15 from the first visual sight of heat(which is an outside dog in a fenced yard).......I've got it as a swing and a miss.......

Seen 5+ dogs from one popular "hunters breeder" with bad hips at 5 years old. Dude keeps breeding knowing they are unhealthy and dudes keep buying $500, no health clearance dogs.

I like Females, don't care what color. The Females seem to want to make you happy more than a male. I must admit, my experience comes from a life time of Chessy dogs. I have a male now, and he is lazy, and pee's on everything, outside. No pee in the house! He is a fierce protector of the home, and a teddy bear to the kids. I guess pros and cons to both sexes, good luck and let us know what you get!!

I will so some info checking and see what's going on,As has been said,I think they will dawdle around trying to be scientific  calender counting and miss the ovulation.I will Pm you when I have some info.

We bought a yellow lab two years ago and our only reason was the previous black lab couldn't handle the heat of eastern WA summers.   Our yellow has two other things going for her, less body fat and thinner fur.  She does well here in the summer.

Wildweeds I pray to God that breeding doesn't take. They aren't doing the breed any favors. Do they know if their dog or the female carries genes for EIC, PRA, CNM? You don't get that information from "a black daddy and yellow mommy". Come on, man!

Both parties have tested both parents for everything under the sun Waldo.What they don't know about is the actual time to breed.I just laughed out loud when my Daughter said " She's coming over with her female at day 15 because she and her vet " Talked about the dogs cycle".The black and yellow comment was made by me,it refrenced the potential paint jobs.The chocolate stud came from a black maleX yellow female,he has been tested and the first 5 generations on his papers all show testing scores for hips/eyes/elbows.Not much in the way of field accomplishments on the papers either, a couple FC's and a bunch of Jr and senior hunters.The chocolate dog came from somewhere over by spokane.
