wa turkey hunting

I have only hunted in Wa for turkey once and killed a small tom, I never really got into it until 2 years ago when I went to my friends ranch in california and he taught me the ins/outs of calling and hunting birds, his ranch is insane and we saw 2-300 birds a day and called in numerous long beards.. what a rush!! anyways I am not great at calling yet so I was wondering if anyone wanted to trade some turkey trips for fishing trips this year?

get yourself a couple dvd's or a couple cd's or both and watch them over and over, get your calls now and figure out which ones you like and practice all the time while driving to and from work...i say that because if your wife is anything like most anybody else's wife, she'll likely try to put a bullet in your skull if you are practicing in the house...anyway...i like the primo's dvd's to watch...

thats what i did and killed 2 turkeys the first year we went out...called all of them in. i have been addicted ever since.

That they do.  We can get more into the details later.  I've got a ton of calls and some decoys.  My buddy who lives down the hill from one of the spots says he's been hearing yelps and a few gobbles this past week.

I would be willing to trade a eastern hunt on the west side for a hunt on east side. Will only take people that will keep it to them selves. I hunt alot of public land and dont need a bunch of hunters to mess with the birds.

Give me a PM, I'm form Chewelah and have hunted turkeys for over 21 years. I'm very selective who I take, but for an Eastern bird. I could bend my rules a bit.

I am the same way sounds like you no your stuff when it comes to turkey hunting if you have hunted them for 20+ years. I have hunted easterns over here for 15yrs. I have hunted N.east, S.east, have taken Washington slam. Send me PM i would like to chat more maybe this could work out. I am very selective also on taking people on a eastern hunt they are a tough bird to hunt and i have put in alot of time scouting and learning how to hunt the black gost. I have helped a few east siders get there eastern.

Yeah, The Washington slam is what I'm talking about. I've killed Rios and Mariam's but no Eastern bird. As the numbers have gone up it's harder to call them in, in the old days if you put one to bed the night before, you could call him off the roost the next morning. Now with all the hens it's getting harder. I miss going to bed at night and hearing the gubbles, or getting woke up in the mornings by gubbles. Are these Eastern birds very Call able?
