Does anyone have any experience with Pointers from this kennel?

No personal experience, but when I was trying to decide between an EP and a GSP several people, who have a ton of bird dog experience both hunting and field trialing, named them as the first place I should look at.  For what it's worth.

Aspen are you looking for a Pointer?

I am at least toying with the idea. I lost my go to dog, a Pointer, to cancer last year. My backup dog, also a Pointer, did a bang up job for my purposes but he came down with a skin infection that took him out for the last month of the season, reminding me of why I had two.

PM me your email address if you might be interested in an adult setter of excellent breeding. Well trained but, lived in kennel most of life so unlikely to be a great house pet.

I'm only interested in Pointers and a dog that can't also be a house dog won't work either.

I want a dog with fire in its heart. A dog that can light up the landscape when wanted/needed but can come in close when told to or better still is smart enough to figure that out based on terrain. I want a dog that can hunt to objectives, not just run or waste time huffing in areas that are likely going to be unproductive. The dog has to get along with my other two, it has to not have a problem with my wife's cats, and it absolutely with no room for mistakes must be able to handle a wily toddler. The dog has to not be afraid of cover, it has to be so eager to find birds it will shred itself doing so.

It needs to be a dog that is power in motion but when it locates a bird, it's like time stops.

I am not afraid of up close field trial breedings but such breedings must also come from dogs that both hunt and trial.

The dog would also preferably be a male and a year old or younger.

I have a line in mind, but it's in the Midwest so I'm looking around at what's closer.

I'm not against rescues either, but it has to be the right dog.

And most of all, I am not in a hurry.

Well Tim Schilleref knows his pointers and he's not a slouch in the training dept.

He's also quite fun to talk to.

Go visit their place.

He only takes in a handful of dogs now for training as he does it for fun now.
