They are cool, I've seen one a few times in the same area up by crystal mnt.  Scared my wife on her hunt last year, she didn't know what it was going to do!

Between seasons I would walk the beach up in Bristol bay, lotsa foxes, and they will walk right up to you! Bend over to pick something up and you'll have a nose in your back! Zero fear of humans. Really enjoyed them!..

That's the only place that I've seen them! Watched one climb straight up a bluff with a salmon in its mouth. I saw another one that I swear the back legs were kinda coming off the ground because the salmon in its mouth was so heavy!

There are still quite a few out there.

Out at the Cape on San Juan they are really friendly, one of my guys had is sandwich nabbed off the tailgate out there.
He wasn't 5 feet away and the little bugger jumped up and grabbed it.
