to who ever hit my dog yesterday on orville..
« on: January 22, 2015, 06:44:08 AM »
..if your on here i just want to say thank you for moving him off the road and putting his collar back with him so we could have it. its a dangerous spot to get out, youll never know how much it meant to my wife that you moved him. she heard you try and stop, she got down there just after you left, but hes a big dog and she wouldn't have been able to move him. he was that one dog for us, that once in a life time dog, the dog oi raised my girls with, those of you on here that have had that dog know how it feels to lose him. ive got a house full of broken hearted girls right now and it would have been so much worse if he would have been all torn up. again, thank you and i hope you and your vehicle are ok.....

Sorry for your loss. Give it some time and get a pup. The pup will never replace the big guy but it helps...

I remember being that heartbroken kid, more than once.  Glad he moved the big guy out of the road.  Sorry for your family's anguish

Sorry about the pup, thats rough for sure. Maybe think about a sign, something that says thanks for your consideration. Something to help them as well. If I couldn't stop after something like that and was able to hear that I was "forgiven" if you will, it could very much ease a burden on someone as well.

That sucks. Glad they stopped, probably hoping the dog could be saved, but at least made it easier for you guys by taking him out of the road. Too many people zip down that road way too fast..

Sorry for your loss.  I had a treeing walker pup get hit four years ago and I know how heartbreaking it is.

I hit a lab last year and he died while I was holding him.  I don't know which one was worse to experience.

Sorry again, I hope you guys get another pup when you're ready.

Brought a tear to my eyes. Sorry for your loss.

This is a great idea. You never know how the person who hit the dog is dealing with this. I know, if it had been my wife or daughter that hit the pooch, they would be devastated. Sorry to hear about the loss of a loved pet. Pets and kids are a wonderful thing but this is the hard part of it.

They took the time to move the animal and from the sounds of it make sure the collar was there. To me that sounds like they felt bad and took the time to do what they could. Maybe they wanted to stick around, couldn't because of anything from not enough time, not safe, to just not being able to face the owners out of guilt. Be a great thing if that is the case and you could bring them a little peace of mind and closure.

Wow! sorry to hear that far too many people will swerve over to to hit an animal instead of trying to get out of the way. Meaning they try to hit the dog, cat, animal on purpose and then leave to become all messed up, so glad to hear someone actually tried to do the right thing.
My dad once hit a cat and stopped imedialty and carried him to the owners. It was at night, and no traffic so he could. That's rough to hear though. :'(

Sorry for the loss of a good  buddy. My daughter and I where driving to omak last summer while she was driving my truck pulling a small bike trailer. It was dusk and I was worried about  deer. I told her rule one never swerve for a animal just brake hard. Sure enough right before Okanogan  a big Ridgeback stepped right in front of us she threw out the anchor and just about put the trailer on the roof of my truck. Thought she hit him but ended up with a near  miss . I hope that old boy learned to stay clear.

very sorry to hear about the loss, we recently lost our once in a lifetime dog, he was with me through the best and worst times of my life so far.

I was devistated not having his collar, 2 days later, my neighbor whom I had never met found it, and called me.

Heres to remembering the good times....

I wouldn't do that, not after what happened to me.  The owners drove up right after the dog died in the ditch where I was cradling it.  Started cussing me and screaming at me, threatening to kill me etc.  No sir, I would not bring the animal to the address.

Not trying to pick a fight just some perspective.
