This used to always be a few pages long. They've hardly had any collars for a long time. The Garmin buy started quite a while ago.

I've been told Garmin Aircraft instruments are good. Of course, they must follow very strict rules and comprehensive testing to get a product to market per FAA rules. This is where their focus lies. My buddies in the Marine Industry do anything they can to avoid putting a Garmin product on a boat. Said the same thing for years. Buy Furuno and avoid Garmin like the plague. It appears to me they've done the same thing with the Tri-Tronics company. They want to sell products which means not replacing broken parts and forcing the public to buy new, not refurbished.

as for the G3s, they still  support and have full refurbishment and applicable warranty status. in fact i have two trashbreakers showing up next week. the G2 and older stuff are no longer serviceable but tri tronics ended that before they sold to Garmin but it probably had something to do with the prospect of selling. Garmin is moving into farther into the dog world after the success of the Gps collars. they acquired Tri Tronics because they were the best, it makes sense that they would want their people making the stuff. Thats one of the reasons that Tri Tronics still on the box for the new pro series

Also, the only product they are "SERVICING" is the G3 500. No other models. So, if you bought a G2 or other G3 model you are squish out of luck.

I provide refurbishment service for my customers through Garmin, i do not sell refurbished equipment out right unless im getting alot of over stock. including G3 field Transmitters (classic 70 and trashbreaker), not just the pro 500 that is false and g2 and g3 EXP receivers. Garmin does not refurbish G2 and older transmitters or older recievers.

Garmin said no to fixing my friends G3 Flyway. They were specific saying ONLY G3 Pro 500 and 550's.

I'm good and he's also bought a new Dogtra Edge RT. I have a G2 Flyway with two collars and a beeper I'll keep for back up or if I buy a pointing dog someday. I had a Dogtra NC long time ago I gave to a friend who is still using it. Really quality products and still have great customer service.

The Pro trainers in the area who have been with Tri Tronics for over 35 years(easily singles out which FT trainers have been in the NW for that time period) are switching to Dogtra and no longer supporting Garmin.
