Nice birds guys ...

PaBen ... got a friend that has a log house & 20 acres out towards the end of Dry Creek ... stayed there about 2 yrs ago why hunting late fall (the last year it was by permit). This year I'll be at the Stevens County Fairgrounds starting the evening of the 13th until noon on the 21st. Green Dodge Dakota (with canopy & winch) with a 25 ft Springdale Trailer (small slideout).

I skinned him out and stretched it out on a plywood board, then used 20 mule team Borax on the skin. Yes that's my daughter. She's at Eastern and plans on hunting with me this year.

I'll stop by if I make it to town. I always stop by Clark's when I go home.

Cool.....was it hard to get the wings to come out or did you leave the bone in?

I split the inside of the wing and took out the big bones. (make wing bone calls) I left the last bone on the tip in the wing. Use small nails or stick pins. Shape the wings and tail how you want it to look because once it's dry you can't shape it.
If you want to do a turkey fan, just cut the fan off and leave some back feathers w/ the skin. Trim all meat off the quills, place it upside down and borax the tail and skin. Put borax on your plywood and fan out the tail on top of the borax. Shape it how you want it and pin down. The tail will cup up when it dries out so pin down the middle of the fan w/cardboard or a wide board. The back skin with fathers left on should be shaped to cover the quells and make it look nice to place on the wall.
