The poacher has been arrested and facing felony poaching charges.
In order to face felony poaching charges for an elk there has to be more to the story. Either a) he has a big game conviction in the past 5 years OR b) it was apart of a spree killing.

I think there must be some type of confusion as there is no way he would be able to enter it in the heads and horn comp and have it taken.   :dunno:

Not sure what is going on or if there is an investigation but I do know he is not in jail and the antlers were still in his possesion today.
The guy in the photo above and these horns were both at the show today, the horns won best in show and he received the prize.

This is about the coolest looking bull I've ever seen.  Rumors about location and whether is was poached have been rampant since it first appeared.  I'd like to know the real story!

id like to get a pic up so everyone knows which bull im talkin about, but apparently the picture created enough stir that the wdfw and king co sheriff decided to do some investigating. They tracked the guy down using the picture of him and bull and found the bull at his house. Upon first questioning he said he pulled it out of hancock but people had sent in multiple trail cam pictures and statements saying it had been seen in other areas. They did some forensic tests and somehow determined that it had been shot at night. The bull has been confiscated and is awaiting a scoring now. The poacher has been arrested and facing felony poaching charges.

Because somebody shot a big bull, two different law enforcement agencies spent time and money because it just had to have been poached. And they used facial recognition technology to find him and some futuristic forensic techniques that proved it was shot at night?

Rigggggghhhhht.

But of course this wasn't plastered all over the news because WDF&W doesn't like to boast about their successes.

 >:( come back with some facts. There were alot of stories going around about where it came from. Thats not too unusual with an animal of this calibur. This is a special bull. If a guy doesn't want to share all the details or location, he shouldn't be expected to. That doesn't mean it was a shady hunt. I don't know the hunter but this bull doesn't deserve to be defamed without facts. The forensics story is hard to believe. This all sounds like bull *censored* to me. Without facts all threads like this will accomplish is gossip and preventing successful hunters from posting pictures.
