Anyone want a LH cabelas Hawkins 54?
« on: January 15, 2015, 05:07:50 AM »
Saw this yesterday at Pintos in Renton.  It looks to be unfired!  Very bright barrel rifling and crown.  I thought it might be stainless, but it is magnetic.  Beautiful rifle!  They wanted 250

416 Stainless is magnetic...

Looked this up just now to check myself.

Magnetic permeability is a property of a material that responds to magnetism. It is usually represented based on the extent to which a magnet attracts the material. Except austenitic grades of stainless, all types of stainless steels strongly respond to a magnetic field.

Keep shooting muzzleloaders - They are a blast!!

The outside of the barrel is black, but the crown and bore are shiney bright.
Makes me wish I were a lefty.
Guy said the previous owner got it as some sort of presentation gift, and didn't shoot it.

Bore is bright clean, nipple looks untouched

Economy failure = Too many people spending money they don't have on things they don't need to impress people they don't like.
