Colorado Lion
« on: February 01, 2015, 06:12:02 AM »
I went in early 2014 and after 5 days we never cut a good track and the rain showed up. The guide asked if I could come back in late 2014 or early 2015 when the weather was right.
We found a few week old elk kill and his tracks so the race started, 4 miles later the Tom had killed a deer the day before and dragged it about 300 yards. He was guarding his deer when the dogs jumped him, he treed 3 different times then jumped off a 30' cliff. Then he went into a cave and that's were the adrenalin level maxed out, we pulled 3 dogs out of the hole so I could get in to take a shot. Me the Tom and one dog in the cave and I shot him at 3 feet! I can't wait to do it again

What did you shoot him with? I think I'd rather have a pistol at 3'!  :chuckle:

It is quite a rush looking in to the eyes of an angry cat from that close. Got mine from 5 ft face to face.
Congrats!!

Shot it with the old 30-30.

Yes the guide was great on saying that I paid for the hunt so he would get me a cat.

That's the way it was some years back with Cat hunt's, glad to still hear of this. Good Outfitter in my book, kind I would like to see more of. Guess I'm showing my age.
