dont skimp on the tripod head...a good tripod is useless with a crappy head

I have one of the vanguard carbon fiber full sized. I spend a lot of time behind it. I am willing to spend the money to find a lighter/better alternative, but have not yet found one.

I got some carbon fiber tripod from Manfrotto for about $195 a couple of years back
