Scoring Non-typical deer
« on: February 02, 2015, 05:29:03 PM »
I had my buck scored at the sportsmans show this year and entered into the book. It will go in the book as net. If they had used the gross score it would of given it 7 extra inches. Now since it was scored as a non-typical I don't understand the reasoning for the deductions.... Kinda stumps me

The main frame is still scored for symmetry and then the nontyp inches are added. Deductions come from differemces in the main or typical frame.

Right I understand "where" I guess I mean "why" if it's a non typical then why deduct differences

Forget about B&C and P&Y, score it SCI.

If the animal grew it then it should get credit. :twocents: ;)

SCI has their own scorers and book.

All the books are for people who feel like they need to compare themselves to everyone else.

:yeah: to me the number is so i cqn get an idea of size. A "dandy 5 point" whitetail could be 115 inch to some and 150 to others. Numbers give a scale. None of mine will ever be entered into amy book except my memory book
