I wouldn't consider this the best but Bumping Lake is a great place. It is never crowded (that we've been there anyways), nice campgrounds, lots of trees and hiking opportunities. Also wheeling nearby if you're into that too.

My favorite is Bonaparte, if I ever win the lottery, I am going to buy the place.  :twocents:

My first choice always is any Priest Lake Idaho campground.

Conconully is good, very ATV friendly. State park, very ANTI-ATV We used to stay at the Comstock Motel, all rooms have kitchenettes.

I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

Bumping is our start of the season and Lake Wallowa OR is our end of season spot.

I'm a big conconully fan.  Closer to home, I spend a lot of time at fish lake. Alta lake is also great, it is still standing, beautiful and full of trout, go support the local economy.

The Pend Oreille Lake chain.  Several lakes with forest service campgrounds.  ORV trails and the Beaver Lodge Resort with new owners.  Great area for many activities.  The lakes are all stocked with trout and I believe some even have bass and crappie in them.

Leader lake

Is Leader still full of rock bass? We use to catch those by the 5 gallon bucket full. I think the state tryed killing them off so it is more of a trout lake? They were fun on ultralite tackle!

My question for the OP is what are you looking for as far as facilities?  If you are wanting full hook ups 50amp service I have no Idea HOWEVER if you are looking for solitude away from the hustle and bustle I can name quite a few as long as you're willing to ride a horse in to the lakes and spend some time in a tent,  Fred's Lake, Ferguson Lake, Doris Lake,  Althpough my favorite is either Eureka Lake or Lake of the Woods, First 3 have great fishing 16 - 18 inch trout and all off the beaten path yet easily accessible via horseback and pack mules..... Other two not so great for fishing but can go back there and not see another person for the entire summer
