Getting ideas for what type of novelty shot some of you might like to see at Wet Buffalo. We can have the raffle ticket on the running animal ( you buy into the shot with a raffle ticket purchase let's say $3 and if you shoot an 8 ring or better your raffle ticket goes into the pot for a chance to be drawn for what ever item we have). We can do a long distance novelty shot( closest to the center over the 2 days wins).  Steel deer walkback challenge. Or we can run our disk flinger ( x amount of $ for 12 shots , using our bows and flu flu arrows , hit the disk and get a score 1-4, some disks have stickers on them for double score. You can buy in as many times as you like, person with the highest score a after both days wins whatever item we will be giving away.

Is there a beginners class or new to 3d group?  I am looking to do one of these shoots.  A buddy and I would be interested as we shoot at TSC sometimes.  How does a new to 3d guy go about entering one of these shoots?

Thanks!

Sporting Clays will be going on March 15 so the members range will be closed Sunday until that is over.   Also keep in mind trap and skeet will be avl. Sunday until 16:00

Not sure of all the differences but I know because I have a 7 pin sight I have to go Freestyle, my wife has a 5 pin and gets to do Bowhunter Freestyle.  Movable 1 pin sights are freestyle also.

Rainier, at  our shoots you can have as many pins as you like and still stay BHFS. But yes, if your pins are move able then you are Freestyle.

I didn't have to give up my 70lbs 7pin bow and go to a 47pound 5 pin bow?  Dang it.  Oh well now I have a dedicated hunting bow and a target bow that feels the same except the poundage.

Is it just make up the rules per club or what? I guess I need to start asking more questions at registration for these things.  I am new to the archery shoots but absolutely love them.

I really like the marked shoots, they are best for me, if I know the yardage I am spot on.  That is why I never take a shot hunting unless I know the yardage.

You will find that some clubs run their own rules and if you shoot a sanctioned shoot say IBO or ASA or NFAA there are different rules with those shoots . I know with IBO there is no limit as to how many pins you can run on your sight. Not sure about ASA. Will have to look up and see what the rules are for NFAA.

Just looked it up, and NFAA rules do have a 5 pin max for BHFS. But again if it's just a club shoot, and not a sanctioned shoot
a club can set their rules. Doesn't  hurt to ask at registration to see what their rules are.

Thanks for the info.  I keep saying that I am going to make it to one of your shoots but something always comes up.  This weekend I am running a 5K on Sunday.  Might come down just for Saturday to see how the course is.  It will give me a little insight for when I can make it both days.
