Any experience with Ruger LC9s?
« on: February 04, 2015, 10:02:55 AM »
I'm looking to purchase one in the next couple of days and was wondering if anyone on here has one or has shot one? How do you like it? I have been reading lots of reviews but wanted to see if anyone on here has any experience with one. Thank you.

My wife has one for here carry gun I believe. I'd be willing to let you put a few rounds through hers if you wish to.

I shot my buddies new one last week. It's a little jumpy and the trigger is awful. Shot ok and cycled everything we fed it.

Was that the LC9? Or the LC9s? I heard the LC9 trigger was awful, but supposedly they fixed it in the LC9s. I'm not doubting you just want to clarify for myself.

I have the same review of my LC9. Never a hiccup in cycling. Hard, rough trigger. Good carry gun.
Bring a GPS!  It's awkward to have to eat your buddies!

Yeah, the LC9 has an internal hammer. The LC9s is striker fired. From what I have read in my research is that by going to the striker they were able to improve the trigger pull. But everything else is pretty much the same.

I have sold both models. The LC9s is a much better model. The trigger is much better but still not a super smooth trigger. They are pretty darn reliable. I have shot the regular model about 40-50 round and been around it for another 200+ rounds and it has never had a hiccup.

No problem if you were closer I would hook you up with a great price on one. Even though I just had a member from lake stevens buy a gun from me yesterday :chuckle:

That would be nice. Too bad the gas would probably negate the savings. If I'm ever down that way I'll be sure to get something lined up with you.

Check out the smith and wesson shield, better trigger and all around feel.

I believe it was just a standard LC9. FWIW I would buy my Tarus PT111 G2 100/100 times over the LC9. Maybe worth a look, about the same size and the tarus holds 12rds.  I actually bought the tarus over the XDs.
