I am trying to plan this coming year out...

Two possibilities for the early season: Oct 3-9 or Oct 10-16.

One of the guys at the WDFW booth at the sportsman show said everything is moving back a week. That would put the Early Elk opener on the 10th  :'(

This would make

Archery Elk better
Muzzle Elk worse
Rifle Deer better
Rifle Elk better

Too bad I hunt Elk with a Muzzy, just my luck.
The mountains are calling and I must go

Everything is not being moved back a week. Modern firearm deer just happens to fall on the 17th this year. That's not a change.

If muzzleloader elk season starts on the 10th that would be a change from previous seasons, since it has been on the first Saturday of October.

Where I muzzy hunt for elk they are usually talking just fine around the 10Th of Oct. But it would be nice to start on the 3rd.

You could change weapons   :dunno:  plenty of time to get proficient with daily shooting  :twocents:
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

I dont see the start date for early ML moving up but who knows. I do know that more GMUs are to be open to early ML and hopefully it will include expanded optys for bulls and antlerless not just spikes.

Looks like 16 new units for early season. It's about time.
