Another vote for Nikons here.  I have a prostaff that is my favorite scope.  On Amazon you can get them very slightly used for the mid 100s.

Nikon warranty is great...You just don't have to use it as much as Leopold.

I've been looking at scopes for my AR and came across this site.  Some good comparison info.  Be sure to check the eye relief amounts.

Excellent warranty and service.  Warranty transfer to new owner as well if used.

I've purchased a couple Nikon M-223's for AR's.  Same great quality as my Moanrch's and Monarch 3's.

I just purchased a Nikon Prostaff 5, 4-12 zoom with 40mm objective.  I love the glass its a great value.  Spent less than $250.00.  I got the BDC reticle, but I dont recommend it as a starter scope.  Its very "busy."  Get the standard reticle, learn to shoot and after a few hunting seasons and a larger budget you'll want to graduate to better scope anyways. It's a disease and a good one too.

But for $250 you'll be extremely happy with the scope and it will serve you for many years to come.
