Moultrie M-880i- HELP

Does anyone have experience with the Moultrie cams? More specifically the M-880i? I bought something like 4 Primos cams a couple years ago, and all but one ended up crapping out on me; and that ONE was stolen. When I contacted Primos about my issues I was having with the cams not functioning properly they informed me that they have a one year warranty and if my cams were older than that I could pretty much pound sand. SO....I am going with another company. My buddy has a Moultrie and he likes it. Just curious what the general consensus is on Moultrie cams and if anyone runs M-880i cams and can give me any insight. By no means am I cheap, but when I'm looking to buy 4-5 new cams at over 100$ a piece it can add up quick. I am trying to find an affordable, reliable camera that will last more than one year. Thanks in advance for any information.

Here is my two cents worth:  I have/had  Moultries.  One that is about 6 years old and 2 that were bought 2 years ago.  The 6 year old cam has always worked great and does today.  The 2 newer ones failed within the first year.  (Both had "card reader problems".  I took them to Cabelas and they were great about giving my money back.  I went back to the display area to pick out 2 new ones.  While looking at the Moultrie selection, a young man from that department asked if he could help.  I asked his recommendation on what I should choose as my 2 Moultries had failed.  He said "he hears that a lot".  He than asked what me price range was.  He took me around the other side of the display and showed me the Cuddyback display and made his recommendation.  I bought 2 and love them.  Very user friendly, unbelievable battery life, great day and night pictures.  They have hung on trees year round for 14 months now and not one problem.  My old Moultrie is still working great, but I still like the Cuddy's better.  Hope this helps.  Might want to ask your local salesperson if they hear of any problems with the newer Moultrie products.

I don't know much about the 880i.  Here is my take, I don't buy brand new model cameras.  I try to find a model that works like the 2011-2013 Bushnell trophy cams and Moultrie 80XD and I stick with 'em.  They are cheaper to replace too.

Moultrie cameras are great, Cuddebacks are good too but I don't like them as much.  Most cameras aren't going to last longer than 4-5 years if they are in the woods 8-9 months out of the year like mine are

I have the 980I which is the 10 mp version of that  camera. It has been in the woods for about 4 months now on the same batteries with several hundred images. I haven't had any issues aside from some curious elk dirtying the lense with mucas from sniffing it.

Between my hunting partner and I we have about 15 cameras from 5 or 6 different companies and they have all worked great at one time and most of them have also failed at a later date.  I have found that just like with most other products, there are basic models and top of the line models from each company.  The top of the line models work better when they are initially put up.  However, as far as longevity goes, I have honestly not seen that the more expensive models last any longer than some of the basic ones.  I have a couple of cameras that are pretty basic models that are 4-5 years old and are still working great.  So my recommendation would be to buy the extended warranty.  I buy most of my cameras from Cabelas and purchase the extra two year warranty that is pretty much a no questions asked warranty.  It is generally an extra $20-$50 depending on the price of the camera but it gives you pretty much three years with the camera to have any problems.  The second one of those cameras has an issue or doesn't seem to be working perfectly I return it and have them send me a new one because I just spent between $100 and $250 on a camera plus an extended warranty and it had better work as advertised. 

To answer your question though, the most reliable cameras that I have purchased have been different Bushnell cameras.  However, I have had a Bushnell fail as well, but not as many as similarly priced models from the other companies.
