Got drawn for a quail quota hunt.
« on: October 23, 2015, 06:43:29 PM »
I just found out that I got drawn for the Di-Lane Plantation quail quota hunt down here in GA this year.  GA has several state owned plantations that are managed strictly for wild quail.  Di-Lane is 8000 acres of prime quail habitat that is used for trials and hunting.  While I get to trial in the land every year, this will be the first time I get to pull the trigger on a gun that doesn't have a solid barrel.  I'm looking forward to having the opportunity to hunt the same grounds and birds we trial on.  Of course, this hunt will be done in true Southern fashion with American made double guns and a few long tail dogs to go along with my Brittany's.  No guns over 20ga either. I can't wait.

This is a foot hunt, but there are a lot of hints behind horses and mule drawn carriages down here.  A few people run dogs off specially designed jeeps as well.
