My best buddy is in the market for a bird dog in the next year, and he is dead set on a springer. Does anyone know of a reputable hunting springer breeder in WA/OR/ID? Would love to help him find a good flushing dog.

Tim Whitney, Stonebroke Kennels. I got a pup from Tim about 6 yrs ago and have not been disappointed. Nice size, great nose, not afraid to go deep in the brush/blackberries, never slows down. Great dog.

Just got off the phone with breeder before getting on here. There is an outstanding repeat breeding of Field Springers taking place next week, We have a female from the last litter who is just amazing and will be getting another from this one. If you would like some more information fill free to get a hold of me.

Brits are pointing dogs though.

If I were getting a dog to hunt a variety of game birds, Id get a brit over a springer. If I wanted a dedicated pheasant dog, it would be hard to get against a springer all. I've had the opportunity to hunt over some very good FC Springers. They are awesome pheasant dogs.

My buddy needs a flushing dog that we hope to get retrieving ducks, thats the whole idea! Man, I wish I was in the market for a 3rd dog im loving the looks of all these springers!

Beleive you me, I have been begging my lady to let me get a boykin for a few years. Tried to talk the buddy into the boykin but hes dead set on a springer.

Finally got around to looking at the pics I took this season (note to self, try to take more than 4 next year).

Nigel on left and Duke on right. Duke found both of these, but I probably hunted Nigel more this day.

The ground we were hunting was probably more suitable for a pointing dog, but the cockers did ok.

I don't know why I didn't remember this, try and track down a guy named Jeff Miller over in Rochester. He apparently owns an operation called Blackriver Kennels and he's a veterinarian as well. The gentleman is supposed to be one of the more respected Springer people around with 30+ years dealing with the breed and he has spent time even training abroad in Wales at one of the bigger name kennels there.

Yep, got my first Springer from Al. He has switched to Cockers (like me) and is still going strong.

Go online and look at SITFFR Foundation. Stands for Spaniels in the field and flushing retrievers. Used to subscribe and got lots of good info when I bought my first springer.
