Permit and tag purchase question
« on: February 12, 2015, 09:34:54 PM »
I've only out in for multi season permits in this state and never put in for Bear. I understand that you have to purchase the tag before you can apply for a permit.

My question is this: if I wish to purchase the combo deer, elk, cougar and best tag in order to get the discount of the bundle I am forced to pick a side of state and method of weapon for elk. What if I then drew a multi season permit for elk. Would I be stuck with my western archery tag or could I choose to purchase the multi season that I drew?

No you don't have to pick your tags at time of purchase, you can select to pick your tag later.

You don't have to choose your tag until September or you apply for speaci permits for that species

You return your western archery tag and get a multi tag in exchange.

You would need to exchange the tag at a license dealer, and it's kind of a hassle. The best thing is to not pick your tag when you buy the licenses. You can get the tags later, at no extra cost except maybe one dollar, for the dealer's fee. If you draw the multi season tag then you just go ahead and buy your MS tag at that time.

A "combo deer,  elk, bear, and cougar" is a license, not a tag.

You must purchase a license before applying. Tags may be selected later.
Nature. It's cheaper than therapy.
