Hearing protection while hunting?...
« on: February 15, 2015, 01:06:56 PM »
How many folks do this? I don't think it would be very realistic for my style of hunting. Maybe sitting in a blind? Got mentioned on another thread so I figured I'd ask.

I never have but it would probably be a really good idea for duck and goose hunting.

My daughter is pretty sensitive to loud noises so she carries a pair of ear plugs with the lanyard tied to her hat when we hunt.  She pops them is just before the shot.  Works well so far.

I guess its always the left ear that gets the most damage, i do the same thing.
My right ear never seems to ring as much.

True. That is if you're right handed, because your right ear will be facing back, while your left ear to to the front.

Yep! Started doing this after a long chuckar hunt one day and could hardly hear out of my left ear for a day or two. It really helps, although I don't use it if I'm still hunt for deer or anything. But in the truck or a blind or anything like that I have one in just incase.

I have the electronic ear muffs, I like real well for shooting, when hunting tho, I can hear my collar move, bushes rub together, etc. wind blowing. I aint sure they help for hunting but they are nice for shooting. I would only try them on a stand, not walking.
