Ill be thereat least one of the days, probably even help set it up... I usually help tear it down as well.

Never been to a silver arrow shoot where lunch wasn't available.

We normally just have standard grill fare. Hotdogs & burgers. We've tried different or fancy fair like grilled local oysters or salmon but even then we have had requests for burgers.

Often times we even have breakfast. normally something simple like scrambled eggs and pancakes or biscuits and gravy.

There are lots of people that show up before first light grab something to eat, shoot and then are back home by noon.

I'm  looking forward to it.  Do you know off-hand if range finders are allowed if you're just going to shoot for fun?

you can shoot for fun with a range finder... Courtesy dictates that you dont announce to the world that its 32 yards to the target, and if your shooting with others shoot last, OR dont say anything till others are done shooting.

Ive had to tell people to quiet down because they were announcing to the world the distance.

Cant compete for trophies with range finders...

Fair enough, I promise only to yell out incorrect yardages, if any at all!  Should be fun.

Also, I'm planning on being there around 10 am. I believe registration is open till 2pm on Saturday? Just want to make sure I dont have to be there by 8am to be eligible to shoot.

On saturday you can show up and start shooting anytime between daylight and about 2pm on saturday. On Sunday we have a Shotgun start. There is a shooters meeting at 830am with target assignements. This is necessary if you are shooting for score. If your shooting for fun you could probably show up as late as 1030am and be OK. we normally try and start picking the course up by 1230 1pm.
