Your going to have to apply for a tag this spring. You can get all of the details on there web site

Do you have a landowner that is willing to let you hunt their land? If you don't and have to put in for the draw I would plan on hunting maybe 2010. Without a preference point its about 40% your first year I believe. Of course thats not bad odds but I wouldn't go booking hotel reservations just yet.

Money orders need to be postmarked March 15 or earlier or the app finds the circular file and you get your refund at the end of April. Good luck

PM me and I'll see what I can do to help...

There's a lot to learn when hunting elk this side of the Rockies compared to hunting either side of the Cascades...

Hope you draw. It's fun over there. I hope to drew this year. I have one point for the draw and five elk points. Still real bad draw odds for the area I put in for.

I got drawn the first year I applied.  In 04.  Hunted for elk around Lincoln...ran into alot of elk and alot of dead bulls in town from the locals.  It was fun, but ate that tag. We did get all of our deer.  10 deer in 2 days.... :chuckle: ;)  I want to go soon, very soon.  good luck.

It used to run about 2 out of three for us getting drawn.  Drew four tags last year with no point.  Don't forget the late tag purchase on a first come first serve.  Get on their web sight and start making calls as they are very helpful.  As far as hunting locations again they are very helpful.  Make a couple trips in the summer scouting checking things out etc..
