Special permits
« on: February 26, 2015, 01:02:30 PM »
I have been huntin deer for a few years now and would like to try for special permits. Not sure how it works but I think is when the new book come out look for what I want and buy a license and an application and submit by end I may or whenever the date is. So where I get confused is I can only hunt muzzleloader season due to harvest on the farm but would much rather hunt modern. I have seen permits that I would like to apply for in modern and muzzleloader. The modern firearm permit is for later in the year when i am able to go. But can I apply for both? Any help is greatly appreciated thanks.

If you put in for the multiseason deer permit, deadline is coming up in March and get drawn then you can put in for modern, muzzy tags or archery.  You can only put in for two quality tags but it can be a mix of one muzzy and one modern.  You can mix and match on the regular permits also but get 4 choices there.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

As stated you can apply for special permits of any weapon type only if you draw and purchase a multi-season permit. If you do not have a multi-season permit you may only apply for deer permits that match your tag (modern, muzzleloader, or archery)

It sounds like for your situation, it would make a lot of sense to spend the $140 on the multi season deer tag. It's almost a guaranteed draw, unless your name is Bryan.  (inside joke)  :chuckle:
