The thing I did like is it left enough of the base/jacket of the bullet to continue on through the bear, which has not been the case for me on bergers.
It seems nobody has perfected a bullet that's best for all distances. sirmissalot provided some great comments and info, thanks. I have been looking for a long range bullet that will hold together better than the bergers. I'm wondering if other hunters have noticed the same?

I'm wondering if other hunters have noticed the same?I think a lot of people understand this. 3000fps+ is a whole different dynamic than 1800fps-. One of my better friends has gotten into long range deer hunting with some really good success. He carries a dope book with medium and long range loads. His thought is that beyond 500 yards he is not going to take a quick shot. So he has plenty of time to change the round in his gun. He was shooting Accubonds out to 450 and SST or AMax beyond that depending on what animal he was hunting. He also wanted to test the ABLR but could never find a large enough supply to work up a complete profile so hasn't yet done it. I know he liked the down range accuracy he was getting with the Berger, but he complained about inconsistent results on game. Last years muledeer was 820 something yards with the SST (I'm not sure what weight) out of the 308 Norma. He was quite happy with what he saw.I believe his longest shot was a Montana whitetail just shy of 1,000 with the A-Max. "Like I injected a grenade in that deer", he said! I'm not sure what the velocity at that range would be, but it would have to be under 1,700, I would think.
Surprised to hear all about these blow-ups with a bonded bullet.
First test loads were an epic fail. 2.5" groups @100 yards. Back to the drawing board.

I had a box of 210s last year but couldnt get myself to try them so i sold them. My 215 bergers do so well for me. nothing at all agains the ablr.

I think that is my issue with these, I have them too deep in order to fit my factory box mag. I will end up having to single feed or go to a Wyatt's box mag. Wyatt's will give me the space I need but requires some fitting, which I am too scared to do. Lol
