I am developing a load for the 210's right now. I had some 190's last and the best load I found was 92.5 grains h1000. shot very accurate. really pull away from other bullets past 700yds

First test loads were an epic fail.  2.5" groups @100 yards.  Back to the drawing board.
how are you going about load development? I had a box of 210s last year but couldnt get myself to try them so i sold them. My 215 bergers do so well for me.  :chuckle: nothing at all agains the ablr.
. Starting with a low charge and working up.  Once I narrow down a charge range then I mess with seating depth.  I think that is my issue with these, I have them too deep in order to fit my factory box mag.  I will end up having to single feed or go to a Wyatt's box mag.  Wyatt's will give me the space I need but requires some fitting, which I am too scared to do. Lol
hmm. Was the 2.5 inches with the seating depth as long as mag allows? How far does that put you from the lands? What twist is your barrel?
its a 10 twist.  My COL is 2.858, which is basically what will fit in my mag.  I'm gonna gonna see how long I can get em tomorrow evening when I get some time to load some more shells.  Nosler doesn't have any load data for imr4350 for their 190's so I am working from scratch.  Different powder may help but I have stupid amounts of 4350.  I am way off the lands.

From the sounds of things some folks jump around trying different bullets.  Maybe I'm old school but as long as I'm getting one shot one kill results with Brand X bullet why should I go to a different bullet?

What's your brand x ?? I believe chasing the "perfect" bullet is almost as much fun as the actual shooting for some shooters....would be kind of boring to just find a decent load and never play with the other options  :chuckle:

. I agree 100%!  Shooting is a ton of fun, why not experiment and have fun?  Can't kill deer in the spring so ya gotta do something to pass the time.

:yeah:  these 190's are supposed to be more like .570ish.  Everything I have looked up says they are exaggerated by about 10%.

So if that is true it sucks, how do we know what claims we can trust?  :dunno:

I looked into this quite a bit, and it seems like everyone is preaching the same thing. True BC is exaggerated anywhere from 5 to 10 percent under Noslers numbers.I am still in load development stage so I can not personally comment on how accurate Noslers numbers are.  When I get a good load worked up and can push them out to distance I should know more.  I'm a horrible shot though so even then I probably won't have accurate data :chuckle:

thats why I bought the book. It is all the common long range rifle bullets tested in the same manner in real world conditions. I learned that bullets bc actually changes with the speed of the bullet.  I don't know if it's legal to post this pic but....
You can see that it starts high as speed is high but as it slows so does the BC. Many BC's are tested in perfect conditions, Bryan tested these in controlled conditions at sea level then at 2000ft(of I remember corectly) and again at 5000ft.  Pic is for the 210 lrab   It also shows in the graph how using the g1 bc for this bullet (secant ogive) will really throw your charts off.
Strongly recommend this book and applied ballistics for long range shooting. These books have really taught me a lot!

More people should buy this book

Bc is a increasingly over simplified way to predict bullet impact.....this stuff is very very complex ! That's why you should alway shoot every distance up to your max
