What's your brand x ?? I believe chasing the "perfect" bullet is almost as much fun as the actual shooting for some shooters....would be kind of boring to just find a decent load and never play with the other options  :chuckle:

My bullet is the Sierra 180 grain SBT pushed by 58.5 gr IMR4350 ignited with Fed 215 primers out of a Browning ABolt 30-06

Round two was a success!  5 shot group @100yds!  The flyer was my last shot and 100% my fault! Too many rounds down range and I was getting flinchy.  These were seated to 2.935" which is .015" off the lands!  When I get home I will put the calipers on the target.  I have to single feed these though.  They averaged 2,788fps.  I need to milk about 40fps more out of them so I can shoot them with my 180's.  We shall see how it works.

Interesting note, my first test group was .025" off the lands with the same powder charge and a bit over an inch.

Chrony is courtesy of Coach!    Worked great!  Changes poi but didn't effect accuracy at all!

I really like the idea of those MagnetoSpeed chronys for speed but have to wonder about accuracy testing while using them. Speed is easily quantifiable but barrel stresses are less so; having that thing hanging off the barrel could likely have a big effect on bullet accuracy or POI.

. I chrony'd 6 rifles today and I can tell you without a doubt, it does NOT effect accuracy.  It does effect point of impact.  Everything was several inches high.

The target above was shot WITH the magneto attached.

Only thing I don't like about the magneto chrono is you cant check speeds at distance.

Flyer really chaps me!  Should have been a .4" group, instead its .80"!  Pretty sure its the best group I have ever shot with a big game caliber.  Except for that little guy! :bash:

I know one guy who I think would have some.  I shot him a text to see if he would let me burn some or maybe trade for some.  I'm gonna try and up the fps a bit with the 4350 first and see if the accuracy holds.  If not, I know I have a winner with this current load!  Idaho can't get here soon enough.
