The allowance for up to 10 gallons of bait is only one of the options.

The first option is a total ban. The second option would allow baiting with a limit of 10 gallons. The third option allows up to 10 gallons of bait but only if the hunter is disabled, a youth, over  65, or on private property that is within an urban growth area or a firearm restriction area.

I tried commenting on the form at  --  http://wdfw.wa.gov/about/regulations/seasonsetting/    --I only commented on a few of the topics and then could not find a "submit" spot anywhere on the questionnaire.. Do you have to comment on everything on the form? Guess I'll try again later..

To comply you must fill out the personal information part, then it will have a page come up with your name on it.

I did fill out the personal info page first and the next page that came up was the questionnaire with my name on it. Just no way to submit it after I filled in several comments. :dunno:

Looks like a lot of good stuff if you ask me. Should be pretty balanced between user groups.
Major changes, Early archery 12 to the 24th (first saturday after labor day)
Mechanical broadheads may be allowed ( this will be good for those folks who do not tune bows very well )
Margaret is going away and it looks like the Loo-wit will extend into the Margaret (or visa versa) but anyway, should be more non private ground to hunt!

I think they are trying to improve harvest opportunities as much as possible. A lot of folks have been going out of state to hunt and these changes will help to bring many of them back (including me)

The biggest change I don't like is changing the special permit hunt dates, I'm mostly talking about muzzy tags.  In the past the hunt dates for the blue muzzy hunts have been set for the 1st of Oct. to 10th, now they have them starting on the 3rd this year and it will change every year.  Why not leave special permits at the same date every year?? What is with this facination of starting hunts on Saturday's???? Same with the little natches rifle Oct 1 thru 10th hunt, it's now starting on the 3rd this year and then it changes with the years!! They are Quality Hunts, my comment to them will be to have them leave them at certain dates and not change from year to year.  Leave them at Oct 1st! I just don't get it.  I do love the new archery dates, but also feel the special permits should just stay on the same date.
“In common with”..... not so much!!

If they ban baiting is the state going to reimburse everyone who purchased a feeder when it was legal?

Right after they reimburse the hound hunters for their dogs and equipment that they bought when it was legal to use them and pay for all the non-mechanical broadheads the people who wanted to use mechanicals were forced to buy.
