I have questioned F&G, AHE, Enforcement and more about something similiar. Even contacted DNR for damage control.

The gist is to have a drawing for the AHE/Master Hunters. Yea, I know most of you won't like that idea, but you have to start small and the AHE program is aimed at removing certain animals in certain situations. A perfect place to start would be bears in damage areas on state land.

Each permit holder would be allowed two bait stations that would have to be listed with F&G by GPS cooridnates and marked with the permit number.
The last baiting rules would apply. No processed foods, etc.

The idea is that hound hunting and baiting are still allowed under permit in certain situations and they still use dogs in for damage control so why not baiting?

Anyway, everyone I spoke with said it would happen and wouldn't even be considered.

If the girdling gets worse and more libs move out they will allow it,and the stricter the better.I dont like the Idea of master hunters getting anything before anyone else.I was hopping the timber companies would start something.

Not sure how that would work, but maybe by drawing through the timber companies?

That's interesting. I noticed that both Copalis and Capitol Peak had more damage then the year before. I have seen it worse in both units, but spring 2007 didn't seem to be too bad.
