Many of us write to our representatives. I've written to my state reps three times, and to the President, Vice President, and Dir. of the BATFE,  just in the last week. I spoke on the phone directly to my US Congresswoman on Tuesday, and they're in session right now. I guarantee you don't have a monopoly on writing your politicians. I don't understand why you have such superior attitude towards your fellow hunters but there are a great many politically involved people on this site, probably much more so than you. Please don't hurt yourself getting down from that high horse. Your comments are rude and self-centered.

And I'm sorry you were acting like a jerk. It's not about disagreeing. I don't mind having a civil debate with anyone and I often do. You called people posting in this thread whiners and for some reason felt that posting in this forum meant that we aren't putting our opinions with our politicians where they belong. You were wrong about that. If you want to make incorrect assumptions about your fellow hunters and insult them, expect to get called out for it. If you don't like being called out for it, don't dis your fellow hunters - pretty damned simple.

I didn't call anyone a name and your comments aimed. People need to take more care in dealing with their fellows - fellow hunters, fellow conservatives, fellow conservationists, fellow Washingtonians, etc. I'm glad you're politically involved. I wish more people were. Just realize you're not alone in that and that we're all in this together. The people to call whiners and other names are out there, not here.

my whole point is that i wish people (across the country and here on huntwa) put forth the effort towards contacting representatives as they do bashing the dude with the jeep. it seems people on here will fight just as your and i are here over something so piddely as this yet have little drive towards what happens in our country.

we are hunters and outdoorsman, we have to stick TOGETHER our we will be forced to be couch potatoes.
on that note sorry pianoman you fell victim to my test but with our arguments i think my point is made so lets stop fighting each other and fight the good fight!

The issue is that you assume they don't put the effort forward.  When in fact you have no clue what anyone on here has done.

Back on topic though.....That is one heck of a wrong turn.  Not sure why he was looking for something more challenging than the roads up there.  Those can be treacherous with a little water on them.  Slick as snot.

I think he should hike in and get that thing out of there, cut the lock on the gate and park it in a parking lot somewhere.  When the forest service showed up at my house I would say I don't know what you are talking about I left it on the hill.  After a few days in the parking lot someone will report it abandoned and it will get towed.  When the towing company runs the plates they would call and say come get your rig out of impound.  You have to pay the impound fee and the off road ticket.  Go up and replant some seed and rake out the ruts for good measure.  And don't ever do something that dumb again.
