Leupold VX-3L Rifle Scope 30mm Tube 3.5-10x 56mm Matte
« on: February 28, 2015, 05:20:03 PM »
I am looking to replace the scope on my Savage Axis .243 and thought the Leupold VX-3L Rifle Scope 30mm Tube 3.5-10x 56mm Matte with the illuminated Boon & Crocket reticle might fit what I am looking for.

Picked it because of the magnification for longer shots plus it is calibrated I think to the caliber round I am shooting and the 56mm for low light conditions.

It will bed to hunt coyotes and other varmints in various setting in Eastern Washington plus also double as a deer gun for the Cascade mountains and it's low land areas on both side of the mountains.

Anyone have any experience with this scope in those type of settings mentioned above?

It's a great scope. I have one with the duplex reticle which has been floating around on a few different guns. I think that it will work perfect for what you want. The glass is clear, the magnification range is great for an all round scope, and they sit nice and low to the bore the way a scope should. I think it's a great choice.

For the record, mine has been spending time on a 458 Arnold (basically a 458 Lott) for a while now and it's holding up great! It's a tough piece of equipment!
