Young Brittney
« on: March 07, 2015, 07:31:33 PM »
Pulled this off the local bulletin Board and I do not have any other info other than been there for 3 days so far.
MY only comment wouldf be that the price seems a bit high for a spayed dog

B. Sept 5, 2011, spayed female, can be registered. All vacinations including rattlesnake, orange and white, clips and vets well. Hunted on Quail, grouse, Hun, chukar and some pheasant. E-collar and whistle trained. Points, honors other dogs, retrieves and excellent air and ground tracker. Kennel dog, no house experience.  $1000 obo. Her owner has Alzheimer's Disease and will not be able to put the final training into her that she deserves. He would like to see her go to an avid hunter who will enjoy her as much as he has.  Please call 509-995-2471 or 509-997-2721

High asking price weeds out the riff raff. If interested call, tell them about yourself and tbe home you can provide and make your offer. Most times they are looking for a good home and handler to work the dog..

FWIW that's not a high asking price if the dog does as advertised. Most 8 week old pups are 700 bucks or more.

its a bargain if it works as advertised. With two dogs in training I probably spend about $2K+ a year just on birds. Probably another $500 or more on bird feed.

If that dog is really that well trained that is actually a great price. In my opinion the average dog owner would actually prefer a spayed dog.

I would want to know what points means.  I would also want to know what e-collar and whistle trained means as well.  Any decent young pup will point, and my 7 month old brit will turn on a whistle, but I don't consider that whistle trained.

The price sounds about right if the ad is telling the truth. I see Pointer pups from champion lines going for $500-$800 with zero training all of the time. That said, you will often find field trialers who need to make space letting go of dogs with some training for $800.00-$1000.00. They are usually washouts but make great gun dogs.
