Next on the bucket list is a fishing/ duck kayak.
The choices are Old Town Predator or Ocean Kayak Big game.
Or am I missing other choices.
The other thing is these boats are in the price range, but is there a better boat for a better price tag.

those look fun. The only thing is is my dog and shot gun and decoys have to go with me. Now one of those will be perfect for my daughter.

walmart also has open 12 footer for 449. by far cheapest out there. Then you step into higher end kayaks. I suppose it depends on how much one will be using it.
Another one I like is the inflatable by advanced elements. No loading sets up fast.

Costco (atleast the one in Smokey point) has some kayaks (did yesterday)...the single model i thought was around 499?

I have been eyeballing a 12 footer at Bass Pro and Cabelas for 550. Sit on top and comes in a semi camo color.

My sled is a good way to go as well, but for slipping into a marsh a kayak would be fun.

Still having a tough time buying another boat. I have 3 already, but this one would be cheap for up keep.

If your not trying to break your pocket too bad. Check out the Ascend FS12T Sit-On-Top Angler Kayak.
Ive been reading stuff about this thing for along time now and it seems pretty tough. The older models had a few kinks in them but they seemed to have addressed them all and worked everything out. So if you read some bad reviews they're mostly on the old models. Its the same one Im picking up soon.
It has great stability and will easily carry 350+ lbs, has a double pontoon style bottom hull that makes even standing an ease.
It has tons of available storage and is fully customization... There's tons of videos on youtube with different things guys have been doing with these things.

I'm with ya, gave my sled up when gas went to a whopping 2 dollars a gallon and downsized

Not cheap but I watched a young guy peddle, not paddle, one all day at Baker Lake and he did well on Sockeye. He had a fish finder on that thing as well. Might check prices at Western Canoe and Kayak in Abbotsford BC, just north of Bellingham. You don't have to pay sales tax and they are made in California so no duty. Also keep in mind that the price they quote is CN Dollars and they are at about a 20% discount to US Dollars. 604-853-9320
