If the early archery elk season were to be changed from what is shown in the proposals, many other seasons would need to be adjusted as well.

There are no other alternatives listed in the proposals, so I can't imagine they would change it at the last minute. If the early archery elk season were to be changed from what is shown in the proposals, many other seasons would need to be adjusted as well. I just don't see that happening. Not only that but I don't believe I've ever seen a proposed season not be accepted and finalized by the Fish and Wildlife Commission. Heck the pamphlets are probably ready to be printed, if not already printed. The meeting to adopt the proposals is less than two weeks away, and the pamphlet usually is posted online within a week following the meeting. So with time being so short I really don't see them changing much of anything. The only thing that's uncertain at this point would be the possible new baiting rules. There are four possible options on that, one of which would be status quo.

Like you said one would be no change, Im assuming another option would be no baiting period. What are the other two options?
As far as the 12-24 season that is better than what it was previously. I would rather see a set date of the 8-21 rather than the floating date they are proposing. Under this proposal it will be the 12-24 for this year because that is the way the first Saturday after Labor day falls but each year it will change so it is always on a Saturday. I guess that is nice for the weekend guys, but when I go I hunt all week no matter when the opener is.I can start whenever so if it helps to always have it on a Saturday that is fine by me, kind of like modern deer season I guess.I am just glad that the start date is later.

Less pressure for my first crack at it if it starts on a Wednesday However, I do like the 12th for a start date this year
