Why even post this? We  all know its just a lie made up by some independent reporter to make wdfw look bad  :chuckle:

And besides it's  2015 why should we care if we've been lied to for over 20yrs by "our" gov't agency who is supposed to do all they can to ensure hunting and fishing opportunities are maximized  :yike:

Forget the 25 years, sounds like it fills the pack criteria.  How about the ghost pack and a big circle for the whole penninsula

Wonder if it is because the USFWS and WDFW don't want anyone to know they were doing the wolf and grizzly bear push in the 1980's-1990's, after all doesn't it sound better if the wolves and grizzly bear plans are brand new? :yike:

Welcome to the fraud and corruption of the wolf introduction, and now more of the same with grizzly bears.

It's amazing the paranoia some are capable of.  :o

No person or government agency has ever denied that wolves were here in the 1990's.

:yeah: I have a published paper documenting wolf howling responses in the Cascades in the 1990's.

It's not a surprise to me that agency folks don't take some reports seriously.  Consider some of the "reports" from this site.  It is really difficult to take them most of them seriously.

Who's afraid Bobcat? We are just trying to figure out why WDFW lied about the wolf packs of the 1980's and 90's.

Why would WDFW and the pro-wolf crowd down play the wolf push of the 1980's and 90's, pretending that the wolves of today are a new story?

Because they never documented any reproduction in the 80-90's.  Once they had wolves breeding and the wolves were not hiding so well, they had to get on it.

Did the WDFW actually lie?   Or are you referring to a newspaper article again??

There is a article in Seattle times from 91 about a wolf caught and collored in the cascades. I'd call that a confirmation.

I have extensively looked and googled for this article, and have yet to find it.  I suggest that your assertion is not correct, and that such an article never existed.

there was not a collaring effort. There was a wolf sighting, documented.  Which is biologically meaningless.

Endangered Gray Wolf Trapped Near Mt. Baker

Wednesday, February 5, 1992
State Wildlife Department biologists said they trapped the animal, a healthy 56-pound female, near Mount Baker last Friday. The wolf was fitted with a radio collar and released the next day on national forest land a few miles away.
