folks in the methow havent seen an expolsion in wolf numbers wounder why

Actually the Methow/Okanogan has watched the wolf population expand, WDFW has refuse to confirm wolf predation on livestock, and refuse to confirm anymore wolf packs etc. in the Methow/Okanogan for years, instead blaming everything on the one pack they were finally force to confirm in 2008.

One thing you need to remember the USFWS and WDFW can bring wolves in as fast as they disappear, and then as usual pretend they know nothing.

As far as wolf control by the public, it's something that isn't talked about openly or at all.

Jasnt I really appreciate your offer it sounds like we should go on a hike I would love to see some Bull Moose. Anyone have any lambs I can take for a nature walk I promise to take good care of them.  I also need a video camera, lambs may need self defending and I may need proof if I get attacked.

The conditions for killing wildlife vary, based primarily on the classification of the wildlife species, the imminent nature of the threat to personal safety. Additional conditions defined by the department may also be important, depending on individual situations. Killing wildlife for personal safety is subject to all other state and federal laws including, but not limited to, Titles 77 RCW and 232 WAC.
(1) Killing wildlife for personal safety.
(a) It is permissible to kill wild animals engaged in the physical act of attacking a person.
(b) It is permissible to kill game animals posing an immediate threat of physical harm to a person.
