damng ticks. Figured warming would bring em out. We only saw a couple two weeks ago.
Trying to find a basin without elk! I've got ten in my near basin. Not that a bear couldn't go in there as well but I'm on like day 6 in the wilderness, second solo...it's only crazy if it doesn't work.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
This past year I was following a bear in September trying to catch up and he lead me straight into a herd of elk. One of which took an arrow. I thought the bear was ripping a stump apart but it was a bull raking a tree. Elk and bears coexist

I thought the bear was ripping a stump apart but it was a bull raking a tree. Elk and bears coexist I never thought of that---what a great strategy. If the sound of bears crashing through the woods doesn't affect the elk, then you crashing through the woods after the bear should also be true. (I know, somebody will chirp in that bears are really quiet movers.) I don't know if I will ever be in that position, but this is good to know.
