Was in there yesterday.  Tons of elk sign!  Bumped one cow elk off the road not more than 30 yards from me.  Found one section where the bears got in pretty heavy last year.  One little tree had a few scratches on it and one paw print.  Other than that I saw nothing telling me that yogi had woken up yet.  At least in the area I was.

I did hear 7 shots south of Camp 7 about 1 pm yesterday.  Hopefully someone connected.

I beleive it is under 19 for the spring bear pass and I don't believe you can buy a spring  pass unless you are drawn , if you want to go with you would have to buy the full season pass .

7 consecutive?

Seems like a strange scenario since target practice is not allowed. Plus, 7 rounds down range for a single bear seems unusual...?

7 Shots... anyone needing 7 shots to connect doesn't deserve the privilege.

He might be using a 243 or 425-06 it might take some lead to put it down  :bdid:

Dad drew the tag... IF by chance he is a disabled hunter, $100 pass fo him, $0 fo his helper. All the son would need to do is sign the release..... Like my friend is doing with me.

Please inform me as to what is wrong with a .243 or .25-06 for black bear. Grizzly bears I understand but I would not hesitate to take a black bear with my .25-06. Probably going to do it next week if I don't use my bow.

The only reason it "would take some lead to put it down" is because the shot placement wasn't correct.

Just because target practice is not allowed does'nt mean it does'nt happen . I've heard it / seen it many times . There is not enough security to watch every area all the time .
