wdfw.wa.gov/hunting/bear_cougar/education/blackbear.php

I think that should work...
I was not drawn, but have spent a little time up there...

It won't let you look at the map if not selected. Is the map the same as years past.

I have seen bear in almost every part of this unit. I tend to hunt the swamps and old grassy roads in reprod the size they will be looking to peal In. There is also some good spots in the northwest and south west to glass clear-cuts.   I can't wait to get out and look around. The gates were locked up when I came home from work tonight.

Can I ride a mountain bike or a rokon behind a closed gate?

So. I don't think I can actually scout until April 15. Which means hunt. Is that correct no access until April 15?

I was told that they would open the gates to the area that is open for bear about a week prior to the season for scouting.

That area is part of the Pe Ell tree farm and right now it's open for recreational access- no permit required. So you can scout next week. You will most likely have to park at a gate and walk in, but you can certainly scout!

From the Weyerhaeuser website:

"Washington: PeEll - Non-motorized access is allowed (no permit needed) from Feb. 1 to July 31, 2015. 2014 Permit Holders- No need to return your key, permit or hangtag. Please recycle or throw away.

Awesome. Thanks so much. Washington and private land is new to me. Use to national forests and wilderness areas. Hopefully I helped the thread by adding the map. It was a challenge but I got it converted. Any turkeys in the same area as the bear hunting.

Yes there are some turkeys in that area, at least there used to be. Probably not very likely that you'll see any though.
