Yes there are some turkeys in that area, at least there used to be. Probably not very likely that you'll see any though.

I drew the tag last year and seen two turkeys.

12 miles today. A Blacktail deer. A slug. And some trees peeled from years past.

Have. Question. About a sound that is foreign to me. It starts out as a dull thud followed by thud thud followed by thud thud thud followed by thud thud thud thud thud thud thud thud. I no that sounds weird. The other way I can describe it is similar to when you spin a quarter on a table and how it eventually wobbles and falls down. Imagine doing that with a circular disk of wood. I have heard this sound each time I have been out and each time on multiple occasions.

Probably a ruffed grouse drumming. Google it, you can probably find a video on youtube or somewhere.

Not much to report today. Active logging in one area. Some gates open some gates closed. I just drove around scoping out the different areas. Lots of private property private road no trespassing signs along roads that lead to gates???  Can I drive up to the gate?
