Nobody other than stang shot a bear in Monroe?  Oh dear God this will make his head big!  I'm going to have to hear about this forever now.

Went out with gallion yesterday. Some nice driving, some decent deer and one nice buck...no bears. I've got some good vid from the flamingos....one baby bear, one average bear, and one fatty that have been crusing the area. I'm trying to upload a vid but haven't got it done yet.

Just from this site, i am sure other bears were taken by non HW members.. :twocents:

His head cant get much bigger, he already looks like a bobble head  :chuckle:

2/2 on Spring Bears... I am so good I even passed on one that I could've taken.   :chuckle:

I did contact WDFW because I wanted to be "The Best", but it sounds like one other non-HuntWA member did get a bear in Monroe.  Still, I'm pretty amazing.

Looking at successes over the last few years for the 25 tags issued:

2015: 2 (one of which was mine)
2014: 4 Bears
2013: 4
2012: 2 (one of which was mine)
2011: 1
2010: 7

Basically, I've killed ~17% of the Spring bears taken in the Monroe unit over the last 4 years.   :IBCOOL:

Wasn't D-rock with you both times? Maybe he is the Bear whisperer??  :dunno:

You are doing something right though...

I might give it one last ditch effort tonight, but I dont have a whole lot of hope. If I dont fill my tag it wasnt from lack of effort. I feel like ive learned a good bit what to  look for for future years and even for the regular season. This was my first real effort at bear hunting so I knew i was going to need a lot of luck.

Thank you to everyone that offered tips and insight for this hunt. I certainly appreciate it.

Here's the major difference... I had an opportunity without D-Rock and waited for him.  Basically I allowed him to be there with me.

More importantly, ask DRock when the last time was that he killed a bear without my bullets in it.   :chuckle:  I think it may have been 2011.

Gallion, please kill one tonight, otherwise I'll just be up here on my high horse alone.   :llam:

This is a tough hunt. I put in countless hours in 2012 and didn't get anything. I only got a brief glimpse of one if I remember right. Good going Stang and DRock.
I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I'm not!
