I'd be happy to hear of anyone getting one.  I'd even be happy to see one.  I'm beginning to get excited about piles of bear poop.  My life is a little sad.

Well I've had quite a night so far.  I was not really feeling lucky but thought I'd give it a shot.  Checked some of my favorite clear cuts and right before dark located a bear. Fortunately for her, she had reproduced last year and had 2 cubs in tow. As I was driving back, pleased with my evening, I got a flat. Which was fine because after my flat the other day I was ready with a floor jack and two spares. Except, the spares that I thought would fit my Chevy half ton truck are somehow a smaller hole pattern, even though they are both 6 lug. They are from the Cadillac version of the trailblazer I think. So now I'm stuck up behind lake roesiger, waiting for drocks cousin, dinker, for a spare of his. Thankfully I have cell service to keep me company and to get help. Two blown tires in a week? It's like they're trying to make this road as impassible as possible 😒

Going out on Friday I think I'm going to Chang it up a bit. Try some areas I sure no one has been in because it sucks to get into and a few miles from the road

Last time i was up that direction a week and a half ago I got a flat too. Sliced the tire to the point I had to replace it. I'm planning on being up there tomorrow and hopefully the bad luck ends.

Okay, some thoughts from last night, now that morning is here.

1) I saw a bear, they exist, it was a very average bear and would've done just fine.  The cubs were cute to watch and hopefully I get rewarded by one of those running across me when they're grown (and huge).

2) I've got a bear on my camera, different road, same general area.  Does this look like a sow to you?  The face seems to say sow to me, but I'm not great at bear ID.  Size is always hard, but it looks to be on the + side of average.

3) Lets talk tires/wheels for a second.  For all you "old timers" on here, you don't need to tell me how dumb I am.  I've got it.  Now I'm trying to help others be not dumb.

When you see 2009 tahoe tires on a 1998 chevy pickup, that does not mean the 1998 pickup tires fit the 2009 tahoe.  Similarly, not all GM 6 lugs are created equal.  The 6 lug rims on the trailblazer have a smaller hole pattern than the 6 lugs on the yukon, even though they sort of seem like they should be the same.  Now lets talk tire size.  Looking at 2009 tires on older cars, I assumed that if anyone showed up with a chevy wheel from 1992 to now, i'd be fine, even though the old wheels were 16" and I have 17".  Well, with my "super performance rear disc brakes" (stock), the 16" rim does not fit over my caliper.  I will say, that we were able to turn the steel 16" rim around and mount it inside out and crawl home, and yes the hub was in full contact with the wheel, I wasn't just running on studs.  So, boys and girls, check your spares before you get in there, and just because you see tires go one way, doesn't mean they'll go the other.  Had I not had the z71 brakes or just had drums, it may not have been a problem at all.

A biggest thanks to Dinker, but also Sled and D-Rock as well for offering or helping to put me in contact with help.  Couldn't have made it without you guys, especially Dinker.  Sled is a great example of why I love this forum.  I'm constantly impressed by the generous offers and selflessness of others towards people they don't even know.  Thanks Hunt-WA and those individuals.

Anyone ever put a tire on backwards?  It works to limp home, especially if you don't have other options.

If you just want something to get you through I would go to the junk yard buy some tiers and save some money and buy new tires after your done beating them up

Well, I just bought new ones at discount tire and got their full replacement warranty for the life of the pro-rated warranty, so I think I'll be getting new tires, or at least patched, but i kind of want a second spare for the remainder of this season.  That road SUCKS.  I think every time they grade it it gets worse.

Sorry to hear about all your bad luck Stang. Keep at it though, it looks like things are looking up, at least you saw some. I sure wish I had this tag, just reading about it get's me antsy. I have bino's, calls, a pistol and lot's of sharp knives if anyone want's a second set of eye's out there.
I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I'm not!

New electronic call showed up last night. Thinking about head out tonight and testing it out. Any suggestions for what sound to use this time of the year? The sounds i have are:

Sow In Heat, Sow Grunts, Cub Distress, Growls, Fawn Distress, Coyote Howls, Jack Rabbit, Cottontail, Woodpecker, Rodent Squeaks

I was thinking either fawn in distress or cub in distress, but feel like sow in heat could work as well.

Cub will work but a lot of sows will come in fawn  or sow in heat
