Grass and cambium was probably majority of her diet. Lots of peels around and she was in a grassy spot where I killed her. I didn't cut her stomach open, but it was full...
at the meeting for the Monroe unit last year they asked us to take pictures of the stomach contents to help validate the need for the spring bear hunt. :dunno:
Did they mention it to you guys?

They didn't ask that of the Monroe guys this year (that I can remember at least).  I'd probably throw some tree bark into the gut pile  :chuckle:.  "Yup, its definitely needed!"

Buddy and I have been out every weekend.  Seeing lots of sign but just not finding any bears.

I got this bear a couple weeks ago on memorial day.  Thanks to my buddy Dave for spottin it and enjoying the experience with me.  The belly was absolutely stuffed- about 50% with cambium material.
