Unending Hypocrisy from Liam Neeson
« on: March 13, 2015, 07:59:20 AM »
When will British subjects understand that they're the reason we have guns and we're uninterested in their opinions about them?

http://www.breitbart.com/big-hollywood/2015/03/13/fake-movie-posters-mock-liam-neeson-for-gun-control-hypocrisy/

I think he's a good action star, but I stopped watching his movies and will continue.

He's a well known hypocrite.

I can't stand rich liberals who don't think I should be able to own a gun, but have no problem hiring armed body guards.   Pure classist scumbag.

More shocked that these are showing up in California. Good on who ever is posting them. I know I'll never pay to see one of his movies again.

Foolish to think celebs are exempt from being idiots

I'm not foolish and I never thought they were exempt. Hollywood figures have been pretending to be experts for as long as the press has been listening to them and I usually couldn't care less. But, someone from Great Britain working here on a J-1 Visa (presumably), shouldn't be making comments which undermine our Constitution. Americans who do that overseas are called Ugly Americans and are often told to leave, especially in Asian, Middle Eastern, South American, and African countries. He has no place voicing his opinion of our laws and rights. In addition, although England admittedly has a lower gun violence rate than the US, their rate has nonetheless risen since they instituted gun control. Robberies, murder, and assault have all risen since the implementation. I have no doubt they'll also suffer the fate of France within the near future because of their radical Muslim population. He should be looking to clean up his own house, not crap in our bed.

Most celebs get off on the popularity and the constant media that follow them and think whatever they say/think will make them more popular. I think the majority of folks (young and impressionable) that like these celebs will believe whatever is spewing from their mouths.

I've never understood comparing England's gun violence to America's. England is much smaller, of course its going to have less. England is only about half of the overlay on the map below.

Not just the geographic size difference, but population/make up too.  US has 5 times the population, but where it really stands out is in city size.  UK really only has one major city.

our states of VT and NH have a per capita murder rate very close to that of England Yet the gun laws in these two states are far less restrictive that the gun laws in England. They have the lowest per capita murder rates in the US and have less restrictive gun laws than most states.

and as we saw with I594 the bulk of support for firearms restriction is from urban areas.

Taken was one of my favorite movies. I made my daughter watch it.

I too, will never pay to see one of his movies again.
