Goosegetter I do have a scope on it. I took the bases off to see, but they're not labelled with any markings.  They were just off the shelf @ Jerry's Surplus in Everett years ago.

model 70 featherweight 7mm-08, with leupold vx3 2.5-8x32 scope for modern, knight bighorn .50 for muzzleloader.

that said, shooting my marlin 1895 45-70 always puts a big dumb grin on my face every time, and i might have to start using that for westside modern if i do that again...
you can still get gas in heaven, and a drink in kingdom come,
in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun

I love my Rem 700 SPS DM in 30-06. I threw a piece of Leupold glass on top of it, and it has helped me put a few deer on the ground.
There is something just indescribably painful about being stuck behind a prius on the interstate.

My old standby is a Remington 700 ADL in .30-06 with an old Leupold VX-II 3-9x40. I've taken critters out past 400 yards with that gun and I'm sure it'd go further if I was willing. Off a bench with 165g BallisticTips it'll stay stay MOA or better if you shoot slow and dont let the barrel get to warm. It's definitely nothing pretty to look at but it just plain works. I have some nicer rifles in the cabinet but I have such a long history with the ADL that I trust it completely.

That being said my Ruger Scout is turning out to be quite the accurate stick with 175g SMK's. If I can find a hunting bullet that will shoot half as well as those I'll probably start packing that, at least for deer season.

I don't have a hunting rifle of my own yet :'( but my go-to is almost the same as yours tgomez: my step-dad's winchester 30-06. It doesn't have all the fancy add-ons though.

We both know, you don't need all the fancy stuff to kill stuff with....I don't.

Yep, lots to choose from but I always seem to grab the same early 70's Ruger M77 7mm, (purchased new) it's never let me down and I think I would feel like I was missing a old friend if I wasn't packing it around.
The things that come to those who wait, may be the things left by those who got there first!

I don't have a go to big game hunting rifle.  What I grab depends on what kinda country I am going to be hunting.  I'm not going to grab my .270wsm when 50 yards shot are to be expected and i'm not going to grab my 45-70 when 300+ yards are to be expected.
