At the distance these are intended to be shot at, what's the practical difference between a .38 Spl and a .357?  At some point there's such a thing as too much.

Generally speaking, a .357 will put up over 400 ft lbs with a good load out of a two inch. The +P .38s will deal out about 250 ft lbs.  Quite a "difference" !!!

My Buddy has the SW 357 and its a sweet gun. the bullets weigh more than the pistol.

IMO i wouldnt pass on a 38 spl either if it was light enough... I know taurus makes a light one. I think in a CC revolver you dont have to go SW, even tho they are a "Better" gun. :twocents:

The S&W 360 is avail in .357 and under a pound.
I picked up the M&P Bodyguard in .38 +P a couple months ago from classifieds.
I can carry in front pocket and it doesn't pull pants down.

Most violent handgun I've ever shot.
10 rounds of full-house .357 mag and you'll need a timeout.
Is the OP looking for CC?
Taurus Titanium Tracker is very light and the 4" barrel gets a lot more KE out of the round.

No doubt. Simple physics. I would never suggest this for a daily shooter, or even a CC if it was for me. OP only mentioned light weight as a criteria.
Taurus Tracker would be a lot more manageable and a helluva lot cheaper.

I have a Taurus 85T made out of Titanium and is Ported, it shoots 38+P and is a pleasure to shoot. It's light and the recoil is OK. But it was $460 & tax "Used" It's the only one I ever seen and I've been looking for one for a while. I shoot Hornady Critical Defense loads through it.
